Strategic Planning and Governance

Strategic planning is a management activity that sets priorities, allocates energy and resources, organizes operations, aligns internal and external stakeholder efforts around common goals, and establishes agreement with respect to intended outcomes/results. It guides the organization as it adjusts its direction in response to a changing environment.

Effective strategic planning articulates not only where an organization is going and the actions needed to make progress, but also how it will know if it is successful.

THSG’s approach is systematic, evidence based, inventive and innovative. We apply time honoured analytical techniques to help clients identify, capture and then develop positions of advantage for their operations.

THSG has five service areas that enhance an organization’s strategic capability:

  1. Vision and Mission. Identifying and defining the organization’s mission, as well as a shared vision of the future, to inform strategy and guide actions.

  2. S.W.O.T. Analysis. Assessing the internal and external environment within which the organization operates – the basis for the development of strategies to maximize advantage, growth, and value creation.

  3. Strategic Prioritization and Operational Planning. Defining the path to sustainable success for specific business units. Fine-tuning, supplementing, or entirely redesigning planning approaches for greater effectiveness and agility and tighter linkages with business and financial plans.

  4. Performance Measurement and Monitoring. Linking plans to performance by developing meaningful proprietary measures for enhancing strategic advantage.

  5. Corporate Governance Development. Aligning organizational structures with strategic outcomes to deliver value.
