D. Jeremy Hill is a founding partner of The Hill Strategy Group (THSG) with more than 25 years of direct experience in operational, management and government systems at the highest level. He is the developer of some of Canada's most elegant policy and regulatory solutions. With direct hands-on international experience in complex regulatory environments, he has been acknowledged for delivering ground- breaking results in public health law and transportation safety and security. Mr. Hill is a gifted writer, a natural public speaker and as an experienced senior policy advisor, he provides outstanding counsel and value.
Mr. Hill began his career with THSG in 1999 having left the Federal Department of Justice as Senior Counsel in charge of the Agent Affairs program-Criminal Law Branch. Over the years, Mr. Hill has worked through THSG to assist public and private sector clients in transition. He has led initiatives to develop regulatory instruments for Transport Canada, Public Health Agency and Canadian Human Rights Commission. He has developed a unique expertise in being able to provide rapid regulatory development which balances client needs and the constraints of effective drafting.
Mr. Hill has been an early pioneer in the field of interoperability, developing on behalf of clients unique tools to assess, review and then develop instruments to permit divergent systems to operate in a coherent and transparent manner, including mutual recognition agreements between Canada and the United States, information sharing agreements between Canadian jurisdictions and standards related to hazardous materials and dangerous goods.
Born in Vancouver, British Columbia, raised in Toronto, Mr. Hill hold a bachelor's degree (Honours) in English Literature from York University, a law degree from Osgoode Hall and a Masters in Business Administration from Queen's University.
