Transportation Security Design

Transportation security has become the number one issue for transportation in the 21st century. Those who come into contact with transportation infrastructure want to be reassured that they are not at risk of harm. It means prevention, mitigation and effective response tools are designed into transportation systems throughout. THSG is a leader in designing, delivering and implementing these systems domestically and internationally, innovating supply chains, screening and infrastructure design.

Effective transportation safety and security design starts with a firm understanding of the international, domestic and in many cases transborder regulatory environment. Understanding the full implications of what rules, regulations, protocols and guidelines require is the baseline for an effective transportation undertaking.

THSG employs a systematic evidence based approach to safety and security design, as measured against industry specific standards. THSG has four services areas that enhance an organization's safety and security posture:

  1. Performance Reviews: Examining and reporting on the degree to which the organization complies with mandated or industry defined standards including Transport Canada performance review standards for safety and security.

  2. Safety and Security Regulatory Compliance Assessments: Identifying in detail, in anticipation of regulatory intervention, the degree to which the organization may be at risk of non compliance. This assessment permits management to proactively examine and adjust its safety and security posture faced with a regulatory review.

  3. Safety and Security Supply Chain Design: Reviewing existing supply chain practices against detailed security and safety standards to ensure full compliance with domestic and international standards, including information, documentation and chain of custody requirements. Designing optimal solutions to respond to operational challenges.

  4. Oversight and Enforcement Design Services: Supporting public sector and private sector management in ensuring that the lines of accountability are well established and that management is receiving the right assurance of safety and security in a timely manner.
