Our clients were faced with new regulatory requirements to establish new governance structures to ensure the independence of local Police Services Authorities. Effectively balancing the public security needs of the communities while ensuring that the highest appropriate standards for policing were met meant they needed a comprehensive review of service standards, and development of performance measurement and reporting protocols.

THSG was engaged by individual Police Services Boards across Ontario to conduct community based strategic planning exercises, develop performance standards and establish Police Services Boards governance regimes responsive to community needs and sufficient for ongoing reporting to senior levels of government.
