Air Cargo Mutual Recognition

Ourclient was responsible for a pilot project dealing with the transborder movement of air cargo between Canada and the United States and had a major challenge to ensure that equivalent standards applied to Canadian air cargo as did to United States air cargo.

THSG was engaged to provide regulatory and policy support to develop a system of mutual recognition of protocols, standards and regulatory instruments between the two regimes.

Following a series of meetings between the two regimes and identification of common processes and practices THSG drafted a framework agreement which both governments signed and which allowed for interoperability between the two jurisdictions. This process ultimately led to mutual recognition of each others rules.
