Dangerous Goods in Transit

Our client needed to respond to concerns that the Transportation of Dangerous Goods regime in Canada was a patchwork of separate standards and rules requiring industry to comply with individual provincial standards, international standards and transborder requirements.

THSG was engaged to develop the regulatory design for the Transportation Dangerous Goods regulatory regime including legislation, regulatory materials, guidance and policy support. THSG provided the legislative design, the regulatory framework and policy assistance to implement a single common standard in which provincial rules were coordinated, international rules were incorporated and effective environmental stewardship was honoured.
